Crush + Lovely creates digital products for people.

Most digital products aren’t really made for people; they’re made for businesses, advertisers, and investors. We like people, so we design and build things for them.

We are experience purists to the death. Any digital thing worth making must foster immensely meaningful experiences for the people who use it. This ethos binds all of our work.

We build businesses this way too, backed by the simple premise that meaningful digital products are worth paying for, and should be paid for directly by the people who use them.

We are endlessly curious. We like good stories. Computers are great, but we prefer life.

Seeking

We are a small and mighty team based in NYC, with outposts across these fifty states. We seek to add one new person to our team on a full-time basis, with an emphasis on design and front-end development. If you are a kindred spirit and experienced designer for the web and mobile devices, we’d love to hear from you.

Musts

• Head, heart, and boundless discontent
• Designer with IxD emphasis
• Entrepreneurial mindset + self-managing
• Natural communicator + collaborator
• Product-level design thinking (UX + IA)
• Expert HTML + CSS
• Experience optimizing + testing for modern browsers
• Adaptive approach to designing digital interfaces
• Experience with version control (we prefer Git, but experience in SVN or Mercurial is helpful)
• Javascript and popular libraries (we fancy jQuery, but experience in any major libraries is a plus)
• Experience working in a command line environment (e.g. Terminal on your Mac, Linux shell, etc.)

Icing

• Located in NYC or willing to re-locate
• Mobile/portable interface design experience (iOS)
• RoR (i.e. working within rails development environs and/or actual development experience)
• Writing skills (e.g. published articles, copywriting samples, creative and/or technical writing, personal writing, etc.)
